Family Holidays

Being a mother and wife can become so monotonous sometimes, hence making a marriage somewhat boring. I try to take the little man swimming and of course attend children parties to give him something to look forward to. Hubby and myself do occasionally go for dinner dates. I am one of those wives that will demand for a date if it has been a while since we had one. Hey, if you don't ask you don't get! So when at home we do try to keep things lively. But I think we can all agree that nothing spices up a relationship like a complete change of environment, beautiful signature linens and blankets, plush hotel pillows that are thoughtfully chosen to give you a good night rest. I love that there are activities that the children can join in and of course when in the west, the trusted nanny services at your disposal, and the list goes on.

Holidays create unforgettable memories and in my experience, they create the perfect opportunity to make beautiful babies (wink). On a serious note, the economy is not great at the moment so saving is more important now than ever before. Talking to your partner about saving towards a family holiday will give both of you something to look forward to which in addition adds a little spice to the marriage.

So some reading this might think, what if one cannot afford it, well that is a realistic question, hubby and I sometimes book ourselves into a really nice hotel for a couple of days and forget the madness of the traffic and the fast paced Lagos. You could argue that it is not quite the same, well we still do have a good time, I enjoy having time off from the cooking and house chores. Our favourite activity as a family is swimming.

I take my son for swimming lessons in Lekki at the Biscourt Apartments, the teachers there are very good and like me, if you are not a great swimmer, you can opt for swimming lessons too!
